A folk and folk-rock tribute to Canada's Arctic regions. Most of the songs are inspired by personal experiences on expeditions I have been a part of from Greenland all the way to Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, and all the places in between. The last two songs are my "Barroom Ballads", to use the term coined by poet Robert Service. They are inspired by my month long stay playing guitar at the Yukon's most infamous and favourite historical relic of a hotel - The '98.

This album pays tribute to a very small piece of the rich traditional Celtic folk repertoire. It's Mostly mellow in atmosphere with a couple driving reels and jigs scattered throughout. A particular highlight are the five Turlough O'Carolan pieces which I arranged, paying tribute to this ancient harpist's massive contribution to the identity of celtic melodies. Overall this album serves to be a historically accurate tribute, aiming to transport the listener to a simpler era. The only piece that is not from the ancient past is one my late first guitar teacher (Fraser Lee) wrote, simply called "A Celtic Song".

This is a wide-ranging folk album featuring your classic ballads and traditional music-inspired tunes alongside songs with edgier instrumental pairings of electric guitar, drum kit and bouzouki. Each track springs from waterways around Canada in the form of stories, inspiration or tradition. The waters around the country have been both a binding and trail blazing force over the centuries and these influences can still be felt today while tracing their paths. This album was born from exactly that - road tripping from Lake Superior to Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island, drawing inspiration from the waters and the communities living alongside it.

Three versions of Canada's oldest Christmas Carol - in English, French and a mixture of English/French and Wendat. Joined by Ian Tamblyn on hammered dulcimer on this one!!

This song was first crafted somewhere around 1640 AD by a Jesuit name Jean De Brebeuf, on the shores of Lake Huron, Ontario. He used the music of an old French traditional song "Une Jeune Purcelle" and came up with the text in Wendat (the native language) so that the Huron people could understand the words. in 1649 he and some other Huron captives were killed by the Iroquois, but his song has survived all this time and has been sung the world over every year. The haunting carol and story truly capture the lore, mystery and messiness of the origins of Canada. If you can stomach all of that... :) it is simply just a gorgeous song for this time of the year!
